The festival brings long-time residents and new neighbours together through seven programme strands, from student-made works to children’s stalls.
Seven ways to meet a neighbourhood, all along one street
Performance Dada gathers stages and street performances by university students, local young artists, residents and clubs. Four kinds of performers share the programme, so look for how each group brings its own take to a public performance 👀
Would you rather catch a student performance or a local club? Pick whichever you spot first, then give yourself a moment to see who takes the next turn.
K-ARTS MARKET features creative work by students from Korea National University of Arts, with pieces displayed and offered for sale. It also introduces their creative activities, giving you a chance to connect the work on show with the students who made it 🤭
Take a look around before choosing a piece; the market is both an exhibition and a place to shop.
Dada Hand Market brings together local craft communities and nearby shops for a handmade goods market. Compare the makers’ work with the goods from neighbourhood stores, then see what feels most like a find to take home.
Dada Food Market is the festival’s food-stall programme, with a range of foods to enjoy. If you are choosing between a food stop and a market browse, start with whichever catches your eye along the route 🙂
At Dada Children’s Market, children make and run the flea-market experience themselves. Their direct involvement is the detail to look for: browse what they have brought to the market and support their effort with a visit.
Local in Dada presents the work of local organisations, related institutions and resident groups, with activities to try as well. Choose a stall or activity that sparks a question, then use it to learn what people in the area are doing 👌
Dada Land offers play and hands-on activities with participants from Seongbuk Festival School. It gives you a way to join in rather than only browse, so leave room to try an activity that appeals to you ☺️
The 3rd Seongbuk Street Culture Festival Dada Festa takes place in the lane between Kkumui Sup I’Park and Raemian Jangwi First High. Its Jangwi New Town setting brings the festival’s aim into focus: making something residents who have lived in the area for years and people newly settling there can enjoy together.
Admission is free, and the programme brings performances, creative work, local shops and participatory activities into one neighbourhood festival. The event runs for one day, so choose a programme to start with and explore the others as you go.
