Daily life, not display — hanok as a place to live, linger and listen
Oh, what if a hanok is not a backdrop but a living room you can actually use? Step inside and notice how light sits on wood and how a cushion invites a pause ✨! Six public hanoks, three in Bukchon and three in Seochon, open their doors for a living exhibit on hanok daily life with partner brands.
Can you spot the small choices — a low table here, a plant there, a book left open by the eaves? Stand right next to the maru and the courtyard and compare quiet wood with bright fabric, old frame with new object. One more step and the salon corner turns into a playful mix of partner brands sharing one roof!
Ready for a door you usually pass by to swing open 🚪? Pick a guided course and walk with a docent who reads roofs, gates and alleys like sentences! Twelve courses link excellent hanoks and public hanoks around the villages for an anniversary open house called Beyond the Gate.
The gathering returns for a fourth edition and runs over several days with schedules set programme by programme. Admission is set programme by programme, and some walks ask for advance booking through the city reservation channel. Start at the cultural center set in a traditional hanok, rest a moment by the calm courtyard, then continue toward nearby museums and hanok halls!
Hush — can you hear breath turn into melody under wooden beams 🎶? Step into the hanok hall and let flute, gayageum and cello trade phrases in a bright crossover set! The concert pairs breath and strings for a bright crossover moment in hanok air.
What changes when music meets a courtyard — does wood sound warmer, does listening feel closer? Stay a little after the notes fade and connect the music to the village festival Bukchon Day and partner programmes across the villages! 서울시는 10.2.(금)~10.11.(일)까지 열흘 간 북촌과 서촌 일대에서 제4회 〈2026 서울한옥위크〉를 개최한다.
‘서울한옥위크’는 한옥 관련 기관과 단체, 주민 등과 함께 서울한옥을 다양하게 경험할 수 있는 전시, 강연/탐방, 체험, 공연 및 이벤트를 진행하는 복합문화행사이다. 북·서촌 일대 및 서울 공공한옥에서 진행되며, 서울한옥포털, SNS 등을 통해 정보를 확인할 수 있다.

올해는 브랜드와 협업한 k-리빙 전시를 신규 프로그램으로 개설하여 서울한옥일상을 보여줄 예정이며, 북촌의 대표 지역문화축제인 ‘북촌의 날’과의 연계를 비롯해 유관기관과 협력하여 한옥마을 일대에서 다양한 프로그램을 운영하며 축제의 장을 확대할 예정이다.
관광을 넘어 일상의 공간으로 확장되는 한옥의 새로운 모습을 담은 ‘2026 서울한옥위크’는 ‘서울한옥일상’을 주제로, 한옥의 공간과 매력을 경험할 수 있는 전시, 공연, 도슨트 등 다양한 프로그램을 선보인다.
