Anseong Namsadang Festival: Wild Tightrope Thrills!

OMG, look up! The festival brings the thrill of tightrope walking and the full pulse of Namsadang Nori close to the crowd, turning traditional performance into a live-wire moment.

Namsadang Nori is recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and this festival keeps that heritage moving with rhythm, drama and dazzling live energy.

The story behind the spectacle is just as powerful! The festival honors Baudeogi, the first female kkokdu-soe, while carrying forward the artistic spirit of the Anseong Namsadang troupe.

Official ceremonies frame the celebration, then the programme opens into traditional weddings, theatrical plays, domestic and international traditional arts, overseas folk performances and a World Heritage Masterclass.

Start at Baudeogi Theme Park, jump into the Baudeogi Culture Tour, then wander through Anseong Old Marketplace and Anseong Culture Market! Ta-da, the route moves from hands-on discovery to a lively recreation of a Joseon-era market known among the period’s three major markets.
