Welcome to Bidulginang Cascade in Pocheon, where the surrounding terrain is shaped just like a cozy pigeon nest! 🐦 That is actually how this stunning spot got its poetic name. Legend has it that rock doves once lived in the caves right around the waterfall. You will find it tucked away in Yeongbuk-myeon as part of the Hantangang River UNESCO Global Geopark.

This striking site was designated as Natural Monument No. 537 in September 2012 and stands proudly as one of the Eight Scenic Views of the Hantangang River. 📸 The basalt erosion canyon and waterfall were formed when the Hantangang Lava Plateau eroded over time. As you walk around, you can observe incredible geological features like river-erosion caves, columnar joints, platy joints, and distinct lava layers all in one glance.

Back during the Korean War, this deeply hidden spot served as an evacuation shelter for local villagers and later even as a rest area for soldiers. ⛺ Today, it welcomes visitors daily from 09:00 to 18:00 with free admission, so you can easily drop by. There is a convenient parking lot right next to the site to make your arrival a breeze.
