More than 800 iris varieties in one garden!? The Garden of Morning Calm brings together 22 themed gardens and about 5,000 plant species, including more than 300 plants from Baekdusan. Set against the natural scenery of Chukryeongsan, this mountain garden gives each themed area its own mix of plants 🌱

Make time for the Sunken Garden, laid out in the shape of the Korean Peninsula, and view it from the Sunken Garden Observatory. The Conifer Garden features Korean pine, Korean fir, and yew, while the Wildflower Garden has more than 750 species. The garden’s name comes from Korea’s nickname, “Land of Morning Calm.” Professor Han Sang-gyeong designed it and gave it its name, and it opened in May 1996. Spring, summer, and fall bring gardens in seasonal colors; in winter, the Osaek Starlight Garden Festival adds colorful lights, with evening and nighttime visits as an option. There are also hands-on programs such as moss and flower terrariums, so you can add a making session to your garden visit ✨
